Arsenal F.C. delivered a stunning performance at Selhurst Park, thrashing Crystal Palace 5-1 to close the gap to just three points from the top of the Premier League table. As the first half progressed, Jesus came close to completing another hat-trick in just a week. His header struck the post, but Kai Havertz was in the right place to tap in the rebound for Arsenal's third goal.
The half could have seen even more goals, with Jean-Philippe Mateta testing David Raya and Gabriel hitting the crossbar from a Martin Odegaard corner.
Crystal Palace started the second half brightly but struggled to break down Arsenal’s organized defence. The Gunners extended their lead when Declan Rice, coming off the bench, unleashed a shot that deflected off Gabriel Martinelli and into the net.
Rice then added a goal of his own with a spectacular curling strike, sealing a commanding 5-1 win for Arsenal F.C..
This result brings AFC within three points of Premier League leaders Liverpool, though Arsenal have played two more games.
