Bayern 1-1 Celtic (3-2 Agg): Bayern Survive Celtic in the 94th minute and Advances to the Next UCL Round

In a match that was expected to be easy for Bayern Munich, Celtic showed a lot of resilience and nearly did another upset in a round that was full of them.

Celtic shocked the Bavarian side when they took the lead in the 63rd minute after Nicolas Kuhn, but Bayern managed to equalize in the last minute of the game and qualified for the next round with a 3-2 aggregate score.

Bayern Munich will either face Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen in the next round.

First Half: A Nervy Draw for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich won the first leg 2-1 at Celtic Park, so they were not expecting a hard match at the Allianz Arena.

However, despite creating a lot of chances, Bayern couldn’t find the final touch against a very solid defensive structure by Celtic.

The first half ended in a surprising fashion with no team scoring.

Second Half: Davies Saves Bayern from Extra-Time in the Final Minute

The second half was just like the first as the Bavarian side failed to score despite creating many chances.

However, the fans at Allianz Arena were shocked after Nicolas Kuhn opened the scoring for Celtic, which made them tie the aggregate score 2-2.

Bayern tried attacking and getting back on level terms, but they were unable to find a breakthrough as Celtic players got a huge morale boost after the goal.

When everyone was expecting the match to enter extra time, Alphonso Davies scored the goal that gave Bayern the lead on aggregate, to the relief of the fans at Allianz Arena.

The match ended with a 1-1 draw which meant that Bayern Munich advanced to the next round based on an aggregate score of 3-2.

Bayern Munich Survives a Giant Killing Scenario

The match result was disappointing for Celtic, as they were close to causing an upset like the ones caused by PSV and Feyenoord, but they failed short.

Bayern Munich were heavy favourites to advance easily to the next round, but this performance is worrying for their fans as they were expected to win easily but they barely scraped through to the next round.

Bayern Munich will face a bigger test in the round of 16, as they will either play Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen.
