Burnley vs West Ham: Can West Ham stay unbeaten?

Burnley and West Ham United will meet again in the Premier League on Saturday at Turf Moor. With an unbeaten record in their last four games against Burnley, David Moyes’ side will be aiming to continue their fine form.

Burnley’s last six games have all been defeats, most recently a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Everton, for example, won 3-0 in the FA Cup on November 1. They currently sit fourth with just four points from 12 games. That takes them level with Everton in 19th place in the Premier League.

West Ham United, however, showed their mettle by beating Nottingham Forest 3-2 in their last outing. They have won three of their last four games under David Moyes, and even beat Olympiacos 1-0 in the Europa League on November 9. This weekend, they can draw level on points with Newcastle United in ninth place with a win that would move them up to seventh.

Head-to-head statistics

West Ham have the better head-to-head record with Burnley, winning 39 of their 94 matches since their first meeting in November 1923. The sides have drawn 20 times, with Burnley trailing by four goals. Fewer wins.

Burnley are just now struggling, having suffered six consecutive defeats, conceding 17 goals and creating three. West Ham have also been unlucky in recent away games. They have lost their last three matches in all recent competitions. This run dates back to October when they beat Freiburg 2-1 in the Europa League.

Match schedule

Burnley vs West Ham United is scheduled for Saturday 25 November 2023. Kick-off is at 3pm GMT and will be played at Turf Moor.

Where can you watch?

The 3pm blackout rule means Burnley vs West Ham will not be broadcast live on TV in the UK. However, you can catch the highlights of the Match of the Day, which airs at 10:20pm GMT on BBC One. Standard Sport’s live blog will also keep you up to date with all the action on matchday.

Team news

However, Josh Cullen was available after suspension but failed to feature for Burnley against Arsenal. Although Burnley manager Vincent Kompany’s involvement is still uncertain, he is likely to start alongside him in midfield for the upcoming fixtures.

Lyle Foster, however, is taking a break from football at this time. It was revealed earlier this month that the striker has undergone a mental health check.

Michail Antonio will be on the sidelines as West Ham are without a player. Antonio suffered a medial ligament injury while playing for Jamaica during the international break. Initially, it was feared that he would be unfit for most of 2024. However, it is likely that he will only be out for a few weeks.
