Carlo Ancelotti Reassures Jude Bellingham that New Position Won’t Change Despite Kylian Mbappe Arrival: ‘Nothing Changes’

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed speculations that Jude Bellingham will be moved to a new position on the team to accommodate the new addition, Kylian Mbappe. The Italian manager was very clear and categorical that the team dynamics remained the same even after Mbappe’s big signing. Madrid is next scheduled to play Chelsea in the final match of their pre-season in the United States on Saturday.

Ancelotti has sought to calm Bellingham when he told him that he had a guaranteed place in the team even after the signing of Mbapp. Bellingham signed for Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund last summer and mainly featured as a No. 10 or a false nine in his maiden campaign, scoring 23 goals in 42 games. The England midfielder persisted in playing in the No. 10 position during the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 qualification, where the team finished runners-up to Spain, 2-1.

The 21-year-old had a great start of his career in Spain having played for Madrid and contributed to the team winning both La Liga and UEFA Champions League. Mbappe signed for the Madrid giants on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain and thus, the French forward has been assigned the No. 9 shirt following Benzema’s transfer to Saudi Arabia.

A five-time Champions League winner, Ancelotti, noted that the arrival of Mbappe does not change the position of Bellingham. “Nothing changes,” Ancelotti said, adding that Bellingham will not be shifted from the midfield into a deeper role for Mbappe. He said that few people expected Bellingham to be this good in his first season, and he was great and mature and that the upcoming season will not be any different, as Bellingham will remain one of our best players and will add much value to the team.
