COMO CONFIRM FORMER ARSENAL MIDFIELDER CESC FABREGAS AS HEAD COACH ON PERMANENT BASIS

 

 

Cesc Fabregas has been appointed as the manager of Serie A newcomers Como, following the promotion of their caretaker manager Osian Roberts to head of development. Fabregas, who was the club's assistant manager and part of the playing staff during their successful promotion campaign, takes on the role ahead of Como's return to Italy's top flight after a 21-year absence.

The 37-year old Spanish has committed to a four-year deal that will see him coach the team in their next season in Serie A. Como’s return to the Serie A In this coming season was characterized by big names signings that include Pepe Reina, and more big names are expected to join the team including Raphael Varane who played for Manchester United.

 

Fabregas' Excitement and Vision

Fabregas expressed his enthusiasm in a club statement: "I am so happy to be starting this season as head coach and I thank the ownership group for trusting me with this position. I share the ambitions of the group and believe this is just the start of where this club can go. It’s going to be a tough and important season but myself and the rest of the coaching staff are ready and we all believe."

The decision to appoint Fabregas came after Osian Roberts moved to his new role. Mirwan Suwarso, the official representative of the ownership group, praised Fabregas: “It’s an honor for us to officially appoint Cesc as head coach. The impact of his knowledge, experience, and passion is already evident in the success of last season and the evolution of our playing style. We believe that this is just the start though and look forward to continuing working with Cesc this season and for many years to come.”
