Edin Dzeko scores a Hat-Trick as new Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho wins his first match

In a Rollercoaster UEFA Champions League second qualifying round, the first leg saw Fenerbahce emerge 4-3 winners against the Swiss team Lugano. At the same time, Dynamo Kyiv achieved great success in the match against Partizan, and Shamrock Rovers lost against AC Sparta Praha. Edin Dzeko was brilliant as  Fenerbahce narrowly beat Lugano. Veljko Birmancevic and Tomas Wiesner found the target for the Czech side and as a result Rovers now required a miracle in the second leg.

New Saints were mauled by Ferencvaros who won 5-0 with Adama Traore scoring a hat-trick. Dynamo Kyiv handed Partizan a 6-2 thrash with the help of three quick goals just before the break by Mykola Shaparenko, Volodymyr Brazhko, and Oleksandr Karavayev. Lasse Berg Johnsen got two goals and contributed to the Malmo FF’s victory against Ki with 4-1 while Ulrik Saltnes’ goal and assist helped Bodo/Glimt to win against Rigas FS with 4-0.

Jesus Imaz scored three goals wearing the hat for a 15-minute performance to lead Jagiellonia Bialystok to win 4-0 against Panevezys. Qarabag won against Lincoln Red Imps with a score of 2-0 while APOEL struggled to beat Petrocub 1-0 with a first-half penalty., while Midtjylland defeated UE Santa Coloma with 3-0.
