Inter Milan Crushes Lazio 6-0 in a One-Sided Match

Inter Milan put on a stunning display, demolishing Lazio 6-0 in a Serie A clash to extend their unbeaten run to 11 matches. Simone Inzaghi’s men surged into third place on the table, overtaking Lazio and Fiorentina.

A Dominant Display by Inter

Early Pressure from Lazio

The game started with Lazio applying early pressure, as Tijjani Noslin had two close chances. However, Inter’s defense held firm to deny the hosts an early lead.

VAR Drama Leads to Inter's Breakthrough

The turning point came in the 41st minute. Initially, Stefan de Vrij's goal was disallowed due to a foul by Denzel Dumfries during a goalmouth scramble. However, referee Daniele Chiffi reviewed the incident via VAR and overturned the decision, awarding Inter Milan a penalty for a handball by Samuel Gigot. Hakan Çalhanoğlu converted the spot kick to give Inter the lead.

Doubling the Advantage Before Half-Time

Just four minutes later, Inter struck again. Federico Dimarco volleyed a precise cross from Dumfries past Lazio’s goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, sending the Nerazzurri into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Second-Half Goal Fest

Inter Milan came out firing in the second half. Nicolo Barella added a third goal just six minutes after the restart, slotting home a composed finish. Dumfries followed up with a powerful header two minutes later, extending the lead to 4-0.

Carlos Augusto and Marcus Thuram completed the rout with late goals. Augusto displayed incredible footwork in a crowded penalty area to score, while Thuram sealed the win with a thunderous finish inside the near post.

Inter’s Standings and Next Goals

With the emphatic victory, Inter Milan remains third in Serie A with 34 points from 15 games. They are now just three points behind leaders Atalanta, with a game in hand. Lazio, meanwhile, drops to fifth with 31 points from 16 matches.
