Real Madrid 4-2 Sevilla: Mbappé Shines as Madrid Triumph in Six-Goal Thriller

Real Madrid C.F. returned to winning ways with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday. Kylian Mbappé starred in the show, scoring a stunning opener and providing a key assist as Madrid climbed to second in the La Liga standings.

Match Overview

First Half: A Dominant Madrid Performance

Real Madrid CF wasted no time taking the lead, with Kylian Mbappé opening the scoring inside the first 10 minutes. The French forward unleashed a spectacular strike from outside the box, finding the top corner and leaving Sevilla goalkeeper Álvaro Fernandez helpless.

Ten minutes later, Federico Valverde doubled the advantage with another thunderous long-range effort, this time from 30 yards out. Madrid’s dominance was further cemented in the 34th minute when Rodrygo finished off a superb team move, netting his third goal in as many games.

Sevilla managed to pull one back just before halftime when Isaac Romero headed home from a Juanlu Sanchez cross, keeping the visitors in the game.

Second Half: Madrid Secures Victory

Any hopes of a Sevilla comeback were dashed early in the second half when Mbappé orchestrated a beautiful team play, setting up Brahim Diaz to make it 4-1. The Santiago Bernabéu erupted in applause in the 65th minute as Sevilla legend Jesús Navas made his final appearance, taking the captain’s armband for one last time before retiring.

Sevilla added a consolation goal late in the game, with Dodi Lukebakio capitalising on a perfectly timed through-ball by Peque Fernandez to slot past Thibaut Courtois.

The victory marks an important step for Real Madrid, who now head into the La Liga break in second place, ready to continue their push for the title.
